REGULAR SCHEDULED MEETING
7:30 P.M.
Chairman Lindstrom called the meeting to order and led the Pledge o~ Allegiance.

Motion by Cunningham, seconded by Singer to approve the minutes of August 26, 1971,
as presented.
BOARD ITEt4S
Chairman Lindstrom introduced Item V.A., consideration of report and resolution
concerning "Seal Beaeh" identification sign located at Pacific Coast Highway and
Bolsa Avenue. Lindstrom read proposed re,solution. Motion by Cunningham, seconded
by Singer to adopt Resolution 71-11 recommending the removal of the Seal Beach
identification sign at Paci~ic Coast Highway and Bo1sa Avenue.

Chairman Lindstrom introduced Item V.B., discussion of ordinance to control noxious
odors. Lindstrom stated that ordinances coping with the problem from other cities
had not yet arrived. It was the order of the Chair that this item be held over.
Chairman Lindstrom introduced Item V.C., consideration of statement opposing
A.B. 2777. Lindstrom read statement and general discussion followed. Member
Bennett arrived at 7:40 p.m. Motion by Lindstrom, seconded by Cunningham to
approve the statement in the form in which it was presented.

Chairman Lindstrom introduced Item V.D., discussion o~ field trip to Southern
California Edison Company's San Onofre Generator Station. ~~. Lindstrom and
~~. Bennett had toured the ~acility and found it a very enlightening experience.
Chairman Lindstrom thanked r~. Rex Moen, representative from Southern California
Edison ~or arranging the tour.

ORAL CO~~ruNICATIONS
Chair opened floor to oral communications. Discussion among board members followed.
!4r. Bennett raised the question al to whether the board might wish to invite
speakers from various fields to make p~esentations to the board. General discussion
followed.
Iv~. Moen, from Southern Califor.nia Edison Company stated that his company's
Environmental Planning Department had a prop;ram which probably could be presented
at an Environmental Quality Control Board meeting. Chairman Lindstrom thanked
I~. Moen for his offer.

Chairman Lindstrom mad~'a brief statement on a new publication eompiled by the
Ralph Nader task force entitled, Power and Land in Cali~ornia. The cost of
this two volume series is $30.00. Motion by Lindstrom, seconded by Cunningham
that the City purchase these books for the use of the Environmental Quality Control
Board and other boards and commissions.

Control Board meeting inside Leisure World.
