7:30 P.M.
Chairman Lindstrom called the meeting to order and lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call
Present: Chairman Lindstrom, Members Bennett, Cunningham, Killough
Absent: Singer (Excused)
Also Present: Secretary Little
Minutes
Motion by Cunningham, seconded by Lindstrom, to approve the minutes of June 10, 1971.
Approved unanimously by the members present.
Board Items
Chairman Lindst~om introduced Agenda Item V A, Secretary's report regarding burning
activity at the Naval Weapons Station. Secretary explains nature of burning.
Questions and discussion follows.
Chair introduces Item V B, discussion of probable future noise pollution resulting
from the proposed widening of the 405 (San Diego) Freeway, (Referred to EQCB by
City Manager.)
~ Motion by Bennett, second Cunningham, to urge the City Council, before entering into
future freeway agreements, to make adequate provissions for buffer zones between the
proposed freeway and future residential developments in order to decrease the probabil-
ity of noise pollution..
Discussion follows.

Chai~ introduces Agenda Item V C, discussion of "Seal Beach" identification sign
located at Pacific Coast Highway and Bolsa Ave. (Requested by Chairman Lindstrom).
Discussion follows.
Board requests secretary to prepare a report urging removal of sign, for consideration
at the next meeting.
At request of Chair Item V D, discussion of complaints of noxious odors emanating
from certain business establishments in Seal Beach, is held over.

The meeting was then adjourned to the "Seal Beach Center" recycling center for
inspection of the operation.
