Personal Profile

CITY CLERK
CITY OF SEAL BEACH
Residence: I was born and raised in Long Beach, CA and moved to Surfside in 1986. Except for a
few brief stints in Mammoth Lakes and Long Beach I have been living continuously in Surfside
and Seal Beach. I constructed my current residence at'B66 in Surfside in 2007 and have been
there since. I actually rented an apartment in Seal Beach from 1981 -1982.
Family: I am married to Shannee and we have four grown children; our first grandchild, Chase,
was born last year! My father, John, is living in Palm Desert, CA.
Education: I went through the Long Beach schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High
in 1975 where I played water polo and swam. I studied engineering at USC and graduated in
1979. 1 was the president of my fraternity, SAE, during my senior year.
Professional Associations: I have a Real Estate License and Contractors License with the State
of California. I am also on the Board of Directors for Surfside Colony.
Work History: I am the President of Coultrup Consultants, Inc., a real estate, development and
construction management firm that specializes in government entitlement of new projects. For
the last five years we have worked primarily on condominium conversions throughout Southern
California with the bulk of our work in Long Beach. I have worked in general construction since
graduating from USC, first working with my father and then setting up business for myself. I
have been responsible for developing or constructing several thousand units of apartment and
condominium buildings, commercial buildings (we developed the Custom Building Products
building on Seal Beach Blvd. originally called the Coultrup Professional Building), performed
remodels of hospitals and institutional work and have built or remodeled five residences for my
personal residence.
City Planning: As part of my work as a contractor, developer and consultant I have a great deal
of knowledge of how the City planning and building departments works. I have been in the
process from the beginning Preliminary Planning stage through CUP submittals through
Tentative & Final Maps and, of course, pulling building permits. My work on the Surfside Board
has given me exposure to the workings of the Coastal Commission and the Local Coastal Plan.
As a resident of Seal Beach since 19861 have observed the local politics and am quite familiar
with the different issues that have come before the Council and Planning Commission.
I love living in Surfside and going to the different shops in Seal Beach. I regularly surf and play
beach volleyball. I can be reached at 562 - 884 -5480 or at coultrup @hotmail.com My mailing
address is PO Box 381, Surfside, CA 90743.

CITY CLERIC
CITY OF SEAL BEACH
This is an expression of my interest to be appointed to the "Ad Hoc General Plan/
Local Coastal Plan Citizens Advisory Committee ".
I would be interested as an "At Large " appointee
I am aware there is a vacant position
I understand it is a non -paid position
I have sufficient freedom in my work schedule that would allow me to attend all
meetings.
I have an enormous fondness for Seal Beach, and would like to see it continue to be
the nicest neighborhood around.
To date, I have committed significant time and resources to have, what I have been
told, is the first LEEDs building in Seal Beach.
Sincerely,
Robert Girardi

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Bonnie Gasior, and I am interested in forming part of the Ad Hoc General
Plan/Local Coast Plan Citizens Advisory Committee. This position was brought to my attention
by my former student Mr. David Sloan, who now is an elected official in Seal Beach. Although I
have little experience in formal politics, my job requires me to be on several high- profile
committees that are vital to my profession.
I am an Associate Professor of Spanish Literature at California State University, Long Beach.
Anyone who knows anything about higher education knows that professors must "serve" the
university in many ways. One of those ways is through committee work. Over the years, I have
been elected to numerous, important committees. I believe this attests to my collegiality, work
ethic, cooperativeness, and effectiveness. For example, I have served on the CLA Curriculum
Committee. This committee met twice a month for two hours to discuss and vote on new course
proposals within the college. This year, I was elected to the Sabbatical Leave Committee, which
selects the most competitive sabbatical proposals from and makes awards to professors in the
college. I have also served on two Search Committees (2004, 2008) in my department,
functioning as Chair both times. A Search Committee is formed when a new hire is made. We
look through roughly 200 applications, make spreadsheets, interview candidates at a convention
and invite the top choices to campus for a two -day interview. Other committees I have belonged
to include: Study Abroad Committee, Advisory Committee, and Committee on Athletics.
Internationally, I am first -vice President for GEMELA (currently candidate for President for
2009 -2011) and have been elected to a second term on the Board of Directors of the Association
for Hispanic Classical Theater. On a more local level, I have just completed my first year on the
Board of Directors at my condominium complex, Rossmoor Park.
I have lived in Southern California for eight years (Seal Beach for 2.8). I take pride in my
community, on a microcosmic and macrocosmic level, and want to help make the best decisions
for its well - being, maintenance, and growth. Two additional qualifications that strengthen my
candidacy are my excellent writing and bilingual skills (English and Spanish). I hope you will
find me a reasonably qualified candidate with pertinent experience and a desire to work
harmoniously toward a common good. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Dr. Bonnie L. Gasior
