HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA Min 1987-05-26 5-26-87 Seal Beach, California May 26, 1987 The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 6:49 p.m. with Chairman Wilson calling the meeting to order with the Salute to the Flag. ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Chairman Wilson Agency Members Clift, Hunt, Rinser Agency Member Grgas I Also present: Mr. Nelson, Executive Director Mr. Rudell, Assistant City Attorney Mr. Joseph, Assistant City Manager Mrs. Yeo, City Clerk WAIVER OF FULL READING Clift moved, second by Risner, to waive the reading in full of all resolutions and that consent to the waiver of reading shall be deemed to be given by all Agency members after reading of the title unless specific request is made at that time for the reading of such resolution. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Clift, Hunt, Risner, Wilson None Grgas Motion carried AGENCY REORGANIZATION Selection of Chairman Chairman Wilson declared nominations open for Chairman of the Seal Beach Redevelopment Agency. Agency member Clift nominated Mr. Hunt as Chairman. Risner moved, second by Clift, to declare nominations closed. I AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Clift, Hunt, Risner, Wilson None Grgas Motion carried Mr. Hunt was declared Chairman of the Redevelopment Agency for 1987/88. Chairman Hunt expressed appreciation to Mrs. Wilson on behalf of the members of the Agency for her services to the community during the past year in the capacity of Chairman of the Agency, and presented her with a commemorative City plaque. Selection of Vice-Chairman Chairman Hunt declared nominations open for Vice-Chairman of the Seal Beach Redevelopment Agency and nominated Mrs. Risner to that position. Hunt moved, second by Clift, to declare nominations closed. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Clift, Hunt, Risner, Wilson None Grgas Motion carried I Mrs. Risner was declared Vice-Chairman of the Redevelopment Agency for 1987/88. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Clift moved, second by Wilson, to approve the minutes of the Redevelopment Agency regular meeting of March 23, 1987. 5-26-87 AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Clift, Hunt, Risner, Wilson None Grgas Motion carried Wilson moved, second by Risner, to approve the minutes of the Redevelopment Agency regular meeting of April 27, 1987. I AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Clift, Hunt, Risner, Wilson None Grgas Motion carried RESOLUTION NUMBER 87-2 - ANNUAL and REGULAR MEETINGS Resolution Number 87-2 was presented to the Agency entitled nA RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH AMENDING ARTICLE III, SECTION 1 AND SECTION 2 OF THE SEAL BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BY-LAWS, RELATING TO ANNUAL AND REGULAR MEETINGS.n By unanimous consent, full reading of Resolution Number 87-2 was waived. Agency member Clift stated that after review of alternative choices for regular meeting times of the Agency and the City Council, he would support the first and third Monday of each month, to be reviewed at the end of six months, noting that he did not foresee any significant conflict with meetings of the School District. Agency Member Risner concurred, suggesting that should such conflict arise it would be possible to adjourn to a time certain. Clift moved, second by Risner, to adopt Resolution Number 87-2, establishing the regular meeting day of the Agency as the third Monday of each month and the annual meeting as the third Monday of May of each year. I AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Clift, Hunt, Risner, Wilson None Grgas Motion carried ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Chairman Hunt declared Oral Communications open. Mr. Bruce Stark, 204 Ocean Avenue, asked where he could obtain a document showing the redevelopment areas of the City. The Executive Director suggested Mr. Stark contact the Development Services Department or the City Clerk. Noting the change of meeting days, Mrs. Risner suggested that it may be appropriate to request the Planning Commission to consider a change of their meeting to the second and fourth Wednesdays. There being no other communications, Chairman Hunt declared Oral Communications closed. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:57 p.m. by unanimous consent of those present. I jt.-4'-r Chai
