Letter from Golden Rain Foundation Agenda Item N JI Jo - tai" -on February 19, 2010 Mr. David N. Carmany City Manager 211 8th Street Seal Beach, CA 90740 Dear Mr. Carmany, On behalf of the residents of Leisure World, I thank you and the City Council for obtaining the necessary funding to undertake the major renovation of Beverly Manor Road. At its meeting on February 16, 2010, the Golden Rain Foundation Board of Directors voted unanimously to place before the Seal Beach City Council a formal request to change the name of Beverly Manor Road to North Gate Road. Since the City will be spending a million dollars improving the road leading to our North Gate entrance, it would be appropriate to celebrate this use of taxpayer's money on our behalf by re- naming the road for its intended use, that is, for the ingress and egress of Leisure World residents and their friends through the North Gate. Should this request be honored we, further, request that the name change take place upon the opening and dedication of the newly re- constructed roadway leading to Leisure World's North Gate. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, George Sluder, President Golden Rain Foundation P.O. BOX 2069 • SEAL BEACH, CALIF. 90740 • (562) 431 -6586 - FAX (562) 598 -2009
