HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 5983 2010-04-12RESOLUTION NUMBER 5983 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR TRANSFER OR PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT /SERVICES OR FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF TRAINING COSTS FOR FY 2009 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AND THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH WHEREAS, the County of Orange, a political subdivision of the State of California has applied for, received and accepted a grant from the State of California, acting through its Office of Homeland Security, to enhance countywide emergency preparedness. WHEREAS, the terms of the grant require that the County of Orange use certain grant funds to purchase equipment, technology, or services that will be transferred to the City of Seal Beach to be used for grant purposes. WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach and the County of Orange are desirous of executing this Agreement as authorized by the City Council and the City Manager. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Seal Beach, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, any actions necessary to obtain federal financial assistance provided by the Federal Department of Homeland Security and sub - granted through the State of California. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
