celebrate
Arbor Day..
Whereas, Arbor Day, was first observed with the planting of more
than a million trees in Nebraska; and
Whereas, trees can reduce the erosion of our precious topsoil by
wind and water, cut heating and cooling costs, moderate the
temperature, clean the air, produce life- giving oxygen, and provide
habitat for wildlife; and
Whereas, trees are a renewable resource giving us paper, wood for
our homes, fuel for our fires and countless other wood products; and
Whereas, Seal Beach was designated as a "Tree City" in 2009; and
Whereas, this year the City recognized Arbor Day with USS Dewey
sailors planting 50 trees, donated by Trees for Seal Beach, along
Lampson Avenue, as a community project, on March 1, 2010 - week
of the USS Dewey being Commissioned in the City of Seal Beach.
NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Seal Beach, City
