SUBJECT: BEVERLY MANOR ROAD STREET NAME CHANGE
TO NORTH GATE ROAD
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The City Council is asked to adopt Resolution No. 6002 changing the street
name from Beverly Manor Road to North Gate Road. -
BACKGROUND:
City Manager received a letter from the president of the Golden Rain Foundation
(GRF) stating that the GRF Board of Directors voted unanimously to formally
request the City Council to change the name of Beverly Manor Road to North
Gate Road.
On the March 8, 2010 City Council Meeting, Council provided direction to staff to
bring forth a resolution to change the street name from Beverly Manor Drive to
North Gate Road.
Beverly Manor Road street limits are from Seal Beach Boulevard to the Leisure
World north entrance.
There are a total of 3 businesses affected and no residential properties.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact is minimal.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended City Council adopt Resolution No. 6002 changing the street
name from Beverly Manor Road to North Gate Road.

RESOLUTION NUMBER 6002
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL
CHANGING THE NAME OF BEVERLY MANOR ROAD TO
NORTH GATE ROAD WITHIN THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH AND
TAKING OTHER ACTIONS AS REQUIRED BY LAW
THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Following receipt of public comments on this matter at the March 8,
2010 City Council meeting, the City Council hereby changes the name of Beverly
Manor Road to North Gate Road.
Section 2. The City Council finds that adopting street names is exempt from the
requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act ( "CEQA ") because
CEQA only applies to projects that have the potential for causing a significant
effect to the environment. Changing the name of a street and the erection of
revised street signs do not have the potential for having any adverse impact on
the environment.
Section 3. The City Council directs that all official maps and other designations
of City streets shall hereafter refer to the above - mentioned street by its newly
designated name.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall promptly forward a copy of this resolution to the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange. The City Clerk shall also
promptly forward a copy to the local Postmaster of the U.S. Postal Service.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Seal
Beach at a regular meeting held on the 10th day of May , 2010 by the
following vote:
