13. Status Reports re: Boeing and Hellman Archaeological Programs - Verbal Update
Mr. Whittenberg indicated that Boeing Realty COrPoration is processing a "specific
plan" proposal through the City for new development on their property. A "Research
Design", including a test phase program has previously been approved by this
Committee and the City Council. The Research Design was scheduled for approval by
the California Coastal Commission, as Boeing requested the matter be removed from
consideration. Staff will provide additional updates as appropriate.
Mr. Whittenberg indicated that mass grading has begun on the Hellman Ranch project
for the residential development being constructed by John Laing Homes (Heron Pointe).
The city-selected archaeology firm, EDA W (previously KEA Environmental) and
Native American monitors have been continuously monitoring the mass grading
activities to ensure compliance with the cultural resource mitigation measures imposed
on this project. All mitigation measures have been complied with.
