SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF MANAGER PRO TEMPORE
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
That the City Council approve by minute order the list of Managers Pro Tempore
appointed by the City Manager, effective October 2010.
BACKGROUND:
City Charter Article VI - City Manager Section 609 - Manager Pro Tempore
"The City Manager shall appoint, subject to the approval of the City Council, one
of the other officers or department heads of the City to serve as Manager Pro
Tempore during any temporary absence or disability of the City Manager. If the
Manager fails to make such appointment, the City Council may appoint an officer
or department head to serve as such Manager Pro Tempore."
The City Manager has appointed the list of officers and department heads to
serve as Managers Pro Tempore during any temporary absence or disability of
the City Manager and seeks Council approval of the list effective October 2010
(listed in alphabetical order by title):
Assistant to the City Manager
Chief of Police
City Clerk
City Engineer
Director of Administrative Services
Director of Development Services
Director of Public Works /City Engineer
Marine Safety Chief
Police Captain

FISCAL IMPACT:
There are no fiscal impacts associated with this item.
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council approve by minute order the list of Managers Pro Tempore
appointed by the City Manager, effective October 2010.
