WATER AND SEWER PIPE PROJECT #WT0903
NOTICE OF COMPLETION
SUMMARY OF REQUEST: •
It is requested that the City Council:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 6074 to formally accept completion of the Lampson
Avenue Well Phase II — Offsite Water and Sewer Pipe Project #WT0903;
2. Direct the City Clerk, to file a "Notice of Completion" with the Orange
County Clerk- Recorder within 10 days from the date of acceptance; and
3. Direct the Finance Department to release retention in the amount of
$85,261.50 in 35 days.
BACKGROUND:
At the April 26, 2010 City Council Meeting, Council awarded a contract to Kana
Pipeline, Inc. to construct offsite water and sewer pipe for the Lampson Avenue
Well.
The project consisted of constructing over 2,500 feet of 16 -inch water pipe with
valves and fittings, over 150 feet of new 12 -inch water pipe with valves and
fittings, and over 1,300 feet of 8 -inch sewer pipe with manholes. These pipes
connect the new Lampson Avenue Well which is currently under construction to
the nearest point of connect in the City's sewer and water systems.
The project is now complete with the satisfaction of the City Engineer.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The final construction cost with change orders totaled $852,655 and
inspection /testing costs were $26,697.08. The total project cost is $879,352.08.
The City Council approved a budget for the Lampson Avenue Well Phase II —
onsite and offsite of $3,500,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 6074 to formally accept completion of the Lampson
Avenue Well Phase II — Offsite Water and Sewer Pipe Project #WT0903;
2. Direct the City Clerk, to file a "Notice of Completion" with the Orange
County Clerk- Recorder within 10 days from the date of acceptance; and
3. Direct the Finance Department to release retention in the amount of
$85,261.50 in 35 days.

A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL
DECLARING WORK TO , BE COMPLETED PER CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS FOR LAMPSON AVENUE WELL PHASE II —
OFFSITE WATER AND SEWER PIPE PROJECT NO. WT0903
WHEREAS, on April 26, 2010 the City of Seal Beach entered into a contract with
Kana Pipeline, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that the work has been completed
in accordance with the contract documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
Section 1. That the work required to be performed by said Contractor has
been completed.
Section 2. That the total cost of said work is $852,655.
Section 3. That the work is hereby accepted and approved.
Section 4. It is further ordered that a "Notice of Completion" be filed on behalf
of the City in the Office of the Orange County Recorder within ten
(10) days of the date of this resolution.

of the Contract Award was April 26, 2010.
7. The property on which said work of improvement was completed in the City of Seal Beach,
County of Orange, State of California, and is described as follows: Lampson Avenue between
Basswood Avenue and Heather Street, Seal Beach, California 90740.
