SUBJECT: Renew Professional Services Agreement for Information
Technology Infrastructure and Consulting Services

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Staff requests City Council renew the professional services contract for information
technology and consulting services agreement for two years with the option to renew
annually to QUECORE Inc. and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement.
BACKGROUND:
The City has used QUECORE Inc. for information technology infrastructure and
consulting services for the past two years. Staff is very satisfied with the professional and
competent services QUECORE Inc. is providing the City therefore the decision was made
to continue to use their services.
QUECORE Inc will continue to provide the City with services five days a week. The
attached service agreement describes the services the firm will provide. Among the
services listed in the agreement of what will be provided to the City are: assisting in the
core network designs; planning, installation and configuration for new and existing
network infrastructure including but not limited to firewalls, engineering, maintaining,
upgrading, monitoring and installing the best information technology security policies and
practice for the City's network infrastructure. The firm will also provide access level
network maintenance; relocate, support and upgrade existing network servers,
workstations, desktops, police car mobile computer systems, laptops and peripherals.

Information Technology Professional Service Agreement
FISCAL IMPACT:
QUECORE Inc. will continue to provide the City 40 hours of on -site services each week.
As the original agreement states QUECORE Inc.' monthly fee will increase based on the
Consumer Price Index (CPI) for All Urban Consumers for the Los Angeles- Riverside not
to exceed 5 %. The CPI increase from November 2003 to October 2004 was 5 %. The prior
monthly fee for the 40 hours on -site services was $8,400 and with the 5% CPI increase the
new monthly fee for the 40 hours on -site services is $8,820. Services required in addition
to the 40 hours a week would be $120 per hour with a minimum of four hours.
The cost of professional information technology services was included during the
preparation of the 2004/05 budget using 5% as the maximum increase therefore there is no
decrease in fiscal year 2004/05 estimated General Fund undesignated fund balance.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends City Council renew the professional services contract for information
technology and consulting services agreement for two years with the option to renew
annually to QUECORE Inc. and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement.
