Bahorski, City Manager FROM: Steve Cushman, Lifeguard Chief SUBJECT: Budget Amendment for Prior Year Expenditures in the Tidelands Beach Fund SUMMARY OF REQUEST: That council approves budget amendment 04 -17 for wage and equipment expenditures budgeted in the Tidelands Beach Fund in fiscal year 2002/03 but expended in fiscal year 2003/04. BACKGROUND: The Lifeguard Department of the Tidelands Beach Fund received funds from training services during fiscal year 2002/03. The funds received for the training services were budgeted to be used on wages and equipment during fiscal year 2002/03. The funds were not used for wages and equipment during fiscal year 2002/03 but were used for those purposes during fiscal year 2003 /04. The budget amendment request increases special departmental expense $4,416.26 and increases overtime wages $1,915.95. FISCAL IMPACT: Budget amendment 04 -17 will increase the General Funds subsidy to the Tidelands Beach fund $6,332, however, due to the revenue the Tidelands Beach Fund received for training services in fiscal year 2002/03, the General Fund subsidy for that fiscal year decreased by $6,332 because the revenue was not expended. Total increase in General Fund expenditures will be $6,332 which will decrease the estimated fiscal year 2003/04 ending undesignated General Fund fund balance from $4,122,112 to $4,115,780. • Agenda item S RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends council approve budget amendment 04 -17 for wage and equipment expenditures budgeted in the Tidelands Beach fund in fiscal year 2002/03 but expended in fiscal year 2003/04. ... _e___Z____ Steve Cushman, Lifeguard Chief NOT _I A APP ' !J' ED: sr 6 , J ' Bahorski, City Manager
