April 1, 2003 City of Seal Beach City Hall 211 Eighth Street Seal Beach, CA 90740 Mayor John Larson, The Seal Beach International Friendship Association ( SBIFA) extends a warm invitation for you to join us at our April rnonthly meeting, April 17, 2003 at the Senior Center next to the Mary Wilson Library. The evening starts at 6:30 PM with dinner followed by a presentation on our United States /Mexico Sister -City of Todos Santos in Baja, Mexico. It was 1989 when SBIFA and officials from Seal Beach, including Mayor and Mrs. Vic Grgas and Pro -tem Mayor Edna Wilson Sharp, traveled to Todos Santos for the signing of the formal documents establishing our United States /Mexico Sister -City relationship. Our efforts to serve and aid Todos Santos over the last 14 years have proven to he a rewarding experience for SBIFA. On January 7, 2003, SBIFA received a letter from the City of El Monte acknowledging an upcoming prestigious award to be presented to Seal each at the Palmdale, California, January 17 -20, 2003 United States /Mexico National Sister Cities Association, Inc. Annual Conference. It was a great honor to accept a plaque for the OUTSTANDING EDUCATIONAL INVOLVEMENT AWARD on behalf of the City of Seal Beach for our efforts in 2002. We would like to include in our meeting a presentation of the plaque to Seal Beach City officials followed with a future formal presentation at a May City Council meeting.
