Re: Request for Resolution; RACE FOR THE CURE
Dear Mr. Larson:
In September, the 12th Annual Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation RACE FOR THE CURE
will take place at Fashion Island, Newport Beach. As I have in past years, I am writing to once again
request the City's/County's support of this worthwhile endeavor. The City /County can support this
effort in the following ways:
1) Adopt a Resolution in support of this year's RACE FOR THE CURE (sample text
enclosed);
2) Send a representative to the VIP /Sponsor Reception scheduled for Thursday,
September 25, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. at Turnip Rose in Newport Beach;
3) . Send a representative to the RACE FOR A CURE on September 28, 2003;
4) Designate a point of contact with whom I can coordinate the secure and display the
City's/County's Resolution at the VIP /Sponsor Receipt and RACE.
In past years, every city in Orange County and the County of Orange have adopted resolutions in
support of the RACE FOR A CURE. Our goal again this year is a 100% response.
Your support will further the causes of breast cancer awareness, screening, and research in Orange
County and nationally. Thank you for your consideration of this request. A response form is
enclosed, and you or a member of your staff may reach me at 714- 642 -1312.
