BACKGROUND The City of Seal Beach currently benefits from limited sponsorships including the lifeguards' use of Chevrolet vehicles. If the City had to purchase the vehicles, the cost would be prohibitive - estimated at $160,000 +. This is an opportunity for the City to renew the existing contract for an additional year, with a 3 -year option. In return for services, the coalition, administered by the State of California, Division of Marketing, will receive eight percent of the annual lease value delivered to the respective public entity parties (as shown in Exhibit 5), as approved by the Beaches of Southern California participants in the program. This payment will be generated by the enterprise fund developed by the Adopt -a -Beach Trash Can program. With this coalition agreement, we anticipate continued vehicle sponsorship for the Lifeguard Department. This agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney's office for both form and legal substance. FISCAL IMPACT Funds generated from the•Coalition's Adopt -a -Beach Trash Can Program will offset the costs for the Sponsorship Agreement. Annual Commission costs will be $2,345.
