It was established to preserve open space and habitats in order to improve watersheds, provide low- impact recreation and educational uses, and restore and protect wildlife and habitat. The voters of California passed the Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhoods, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002, (Proposition 40) in March of 2002. Agenda Item 0 FISCAL IMPACT: Staff is requesting a total of $9,700,000 in grant funds for the projects listed above. There are no match funds required for these projects. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve the resolution and submission of applications for grant funds to the Rivers and Mountains Conservancy for the Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhoods, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002, Proposition 40.
