SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF SEAL BEACH CATCH BASIN
FILTERS, PHASE II, PROJECT No. 50092
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The proposed action will formally accept the completion of the construction contract for
the Seal Beach Catch Basin Filters, Phase II, Project #50092.
BACKGROUND:
On September 23, 2002, Council elected to award a project to Asbury Environmental
Services. In accordance with the plans and specifications, the Contractor has completed
the installation for the above - referenced project. The installation portion of this project is
$41,770 and is within the budget for the project. The remaining funds will be used for
cleaning and testing of collected materials.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The budget available for this project is $74,968. With $37,484 of general fund monies
have been encumbered in budget resolution number 4984 and the $37,484 in matching
funds has been provided by the Orange County Urban Runoff Matching Grant Program.
The unspent funds will be used for additional testing and cleaning of filters.
RECOMMENDATION:
Upon motion of the consent calendar, it is recommended that the City Council:
• 1. By resolution, determine the work has been completed in accordance with the •
contract documents and declare the installation work to be accepted and total
installation amount of the contract is in the sum of $41,770.
•
2. Direct the City Clerk, within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance, file a
"Notice of Completion" with the Orange County Recorder.
